9Sandra Murray, Research Assistant, Letter from Ardrossan Libriary, 2001. "I checked the Monumental Inscriptions for the Ardrossan, Saltcoats and West Kilbride area to see if there was a headstone for Thomas Taylor , unfortunately I found none. It's possible he was buried elsewhere or the headstone over the years may have been damaged or some other reason.
We do not hold very many directories, however, we do have the North Ayrshire Directory for 1935,36,37 again this proved fruitless.
I then checked the valuation rolls and in 1924-25 the proprietor  Mrs Eva Maude Taylor, Nithsdale, West Kilbride, had a tenant Thomas T. Taylor at Carrick Cottage, 22 Ardrossan Road, Saltcoats. I then went back to 1921 and the proprietor at Saltcoats was Thomas T Taylor with a tenant John E. Green.
I did have a quick look at the local newspaper the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald to see if there was possibly an advert for his practice, although he probably worked from Ardrossan Road, but could find nothing.  We hold all the newspapers on microfim dating from 1857 to present, they are not indexed so would take some considerable time to search.
Should you require a family search carried out, please do not hesitate to contact me again. I have attached a letter for your perusal.
Yours sincerely
