He upholstered for hi s father's company, Thistle Cabinet Works, in Scotland unt il approximately 19ll when he then moved to England. In 19 24 he had moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada and worked fo r one (1) year for Gutta Perca Rubber Co., (Calgary), sell ing tires. He then went back to England after that one yea r. In 1930 David became mayor of Epsom, Surrey. In 1946/47 he returned to Calgary with his wife Grisel. Th ey landed on the east coast and visited veterans. The vete rans he visited on this trip were those he entertained duri ng WWII in England. In 1960, after Grisel died, he move to Whiterock, Britis h Columbia. He died in l983 and is buried in Queens Park Cemetary, Calg ary, Alberta. |
