After leaving North Conway, we travelled east, we wanted to see something of Maine and it's famed coastline. We avoided the main turnpike roads and were able to see a fair bit of New Hampshire and Maine journeying through small villages and towns. Entering Maine we stopped at the information kiosk and I picked up a leaflet about the Owls Head Transportation Museum, it's a collection of working cars and aircraft similar to our Shuttleworth Collection near Bedford.
As with all these collections in the US it was kept in magnificent condition. Many of the Aircraft are not originals but facsimiles, but no less awe inspiring for that, and almost all of them are in flying condition .
If you would like to learn more of the collection follow this link Owls Head.
